Many times the problem of frozen shoulder gets cured on its own, but when the problem is severe then it becomes necessary to get treatment. When the shoulder does not function normally even after treatment, surgery is the last option. Frozen shoulder is medically called adhesive capsulitis. Frozen shoulder occurs when the capsule and ligament surrounding the shoulder joint become inflamed. In such a situation, they become so hard that it becomes difficult to move them in a normal way. To make sure that this problem is not due to arthritis or a broken bone, the doctor does an X-ray. Imaging tests such as MRI and CT scan may be recommended if the problem is severe. This shows whether there is accumulation of fluid in the affected tissues.
